I have the best research team! If I need help with an idea or names for characters I put the call out to my family and within minutes their answers are flying back.
When I was in Melbourne for KidLitVic a number of family members were there too. We had many ‘business’ coffees, lunches, drinks and dinners as my sister, cousins and nieces are the West Australian and Victorian branches of my publishing empire! This photo was taken at one of our dinners.
I’m so happy my family and friends are on this adventure with me. Selling books, answering all my questions and encouraging me all the way.
They now have characters named after them in my new books and I can’t wait to see what they come up with next time the call goes out.
