Focus in 2020
Oh wow, it’s happened. My first ever crowdfunding campaign has gone live. It’s terrifying again to step outside my comfort zone and send this campaign out into the world.
For those who have followed the story I had a reality check a few months ago when I underestimated the cost of producing the three books in Sophie’s series. The crowdfunding campaign will open pre-sales and give me an idea of how many copies to print.
In this year of challenges this has to be the scariest thing I’ve done. I know that I need help to spread the word about these books and when this idea was first suggested it was immediately dismissed.
- ‘I have no idea how to do this.’
- ‘How will people find my campaign?’
- ‘Why would everyone I know want to get involved?’
- ‘I don’t know enough people.’
- ‘I can’t ask for help!’
I have lovely friends who said:
- ‘I’ll help you create the campaign.’
- ‘I’ll help you spread the word.’
- ‘I’ll buy you coffee/wine/chocolate while you stress about this.’
- ‘I’ll hold your hand all the way through.’
And we did it. Now to survive the campaign!
