Earlier this year I received a special copy of You can do it Joey!. This copy was a Twin Vision copy where Joey had been transcribed into Braille.
I feel so privileged to have books available in the Children’s Library at Braille House in Brisbane.
Their amazing volunteers who visit schools in Queensland raising awareness about Braille now want to share the story of Spotty Dotty, the snow white owl and her friend Cattarat. They have worked hard to create a beautiful picture book, which will be twinned in braille, and the dream is to have the book available in primary school libraries for children to borrow.
Braille House has launched a crowdfunding campaign to help with the production of the book.
Sophie Makes New Friends is about to go out into the world and the seed of this book was planted when I was nearly blind and thought learning Braille was something I would need to do.
My vision was restored after a lot of surgery. Spotty Dotty can make a difference to children and their families for whom that is not an option.
I would love you to have a look and if you can, please support this special project.
