We’ve been a bit busy and it was time for a quiet day so off to find the local library in Siena, Italy.
We found it tucked away in another fabulous Siena street. There is an inviting children’s room with lots of colour and another room reserved for secondary students to work in.
Wandering down the main corridor I came across arched doorways into rooms filled with shelves of books and little study rooms. This library is in a medieval building and is underground. I feel like I am in the dungeons of a castle but with lovely bright rooms and surrounded by thousands of books.
I bought The Children’s Writer’s Notebook at the British Library and have been working my way through the exercises. With all we have seen and done during our holiday my brain hasn’t had much room to think about writing.
The exercises are working and I have written lots of nonsense but it has been a way to dip in and out and give my brain some writing space.
